Making a Thaumatrope A thaumatrope is an optical toy that was popular in the 19th century. A disk with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string or on a stick. When the string/stick is twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to blend into together. This is called "persistence of vision".

STEM Challenge - "Tin Foil Boat" (tin foil and instructions sent home) Using only tin foil, design a boat that will hold weight without sinking. How much weight can you add to your boat before it will sink? Try a variety of objects around your home to see which items it can hold/not hold.
"Colourful Fish" craft and language arts project How to build your fish. You'll need markers/crayons, scissors, and tape or glue stick.
"Fishy on a Stick" Craft (included in package: one stick and 2 fish sheets) Colour and cut both sides, tape together (leaving a partial opening to put crumpled up paper or stuffing inside), glue the stick inside, and seal up the hole. Can add glitter paint for extra details.
